Labor Day may be right around the corner, but the continued summertime heat has us reaching for something cold and refreshing. Surprisingly, ice cream overtakes beer as America’s favorite in new poll.
It may be looking like fall with the overtake of pumpkin spice everything, but the heat does not seem to be going away anytime soon. In fact, climate experts predict that 2023 may be a record-setting year as far as hot weather goes. So, the team at www.supercasinosites.com wanted to know what were Americans top cool summer treats to beat the heat.
Analyzing Google searches from the United States this summer found that ice cream is the most searched treat in hot weather. Reviewing the search results for several other snacks and drinks traditionally associated with summer eating, beer ranks second, followed by refreshing watermelon.
Check out these results based on Google search interest score…
Compared to the other four, ice cream emerges as the top search term in an astounding 43 states, and the District of Columbia. However, beer is the most searched term in 7 states. The beer-loving states that reach for a cold one over a cone are Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The research also showed that chocolate is the most popular flavor in the U.S., being the most searched for term in 34 states. Vanilla ranks second with 10 states plus D.C. Strawberry ice cream has 3 states, coconut with 2, and banana with 1. Coconut and banana flavored ice creams making the list at all is pretty surprising in itself.
Here’s a fun map showing the results…
The research was based on Google Trends data for searches between May and August 2023. The comparison was confined to search terms within the Food & Beverage category. Thanks to Super Casino Sites for providing me with this data.
Speaking of beer, Beer Lover’s Day is right around the corner on September 7th! I wrote a post about it here.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m in the mood for some ice cream and a cold beer! 🙂
